Having surged up the NHL standings over the past month the defending-champion Boston Bruins are now leading the way on the Stanley Cup futures list at 13/2 odds to claim the title again.
Boston, back at 11/1 odds to win the Stanley Cup a month ago, is riding a smothering defense and a healthy roster back into the elite ranks of the NHL after a sluggish start to the campaign.
The Pittsburgh Penguins, missing star center Sidney Crosby once again due to his ongoing concussion issues, are next at 15/2 odds at the Bodog Sportsbook to persevere and win the Stanley Cup this season, while the Vancouver Canucks are currently pegged at 8/1 odds.
The Chicago Blackhawks at 9/1 and the Philadelphia Flyers at 10/1 round out the top tier of Cup contenders heading into the New Year, with the New York Rangers and San Jose Sharks just a step back with 12/1 championship odds.
The Detroit Red Wings (13/1) and the Washington Capitals (16/1) are next on the title odds at the Bodog Sportsbook, with the Los Angeles Kings and the rising St. Louis Blues both at 20/1 odds.
Down at the bottom of the list, the Columbus Blue Jackets are the biggest longshots on the Stanley Cup odds at 500/1, with the New York Islanders at 300/1 at the Bodog Sportsbook, and the Carolina Hurricanes just ahead of them at 250/1 odds.
