If you like a lot goals, you will be disappointed with this series.
The Canucks and Kings meet up in a first round series that will likely be determined by how good, or bad one sides goal tending is. During the regular season the Canucks and Kings clashed four times, splitting the season-series 2-2. In those four games goals were at a premium with 16 goals scored total and the Under going 1-0-3.
The Under has been the way to go for awhile when the Kings and Canucks meet uat 5-0-3 in their last eight matchups. In what should be a low-scoring the series the Canucks are -210 favorites at Bodog.ca and the Kings are +175 underdogs.
Both the Canucks and Kings are expected to get an important piece of their offense back in time for the start of the series. For the Canucks it’s leading goal scorer Daniel Sedin, who missed the last nine game of the regular season with a concussion.
The Sedins are the offensive catalysts for the Canucks, but win or lose all the pressure for the Canucks falls on goal tender Roberto Luongo. With Cory Schneider waiting in the wings Luongo could have a short leash if he wilts under the pressure again.
The Kings enemic offense will welcome back Jeff Carter, who missed the last five games. The Kings need all the offensive help they can get after finish second last in the league in goals.
The only reason Los Angele made the playoff was Jonathan Quick and he’ll likely be the only reason they make it beyond the first round if they upset the Canucks.
The series opens in Vancouver on Wednesday with the Canucks are -175 favorite at Will Hill (home of a 100% Deposit Bonus).
