The Chicago Blackhawks are off to just a middling start to the 2014/15 NHL season, but the oddsmakers at the online sportsbooks still have them as the co-favorites on the updated odds to win the Stanley Cup in the spring.
At Bodog the Blackhawks and Penguins both sit at 15/2 on the Stanley Cup betting lines a month into the season, with the Boston Bruins rounding out the top three contenders on the futures list at 17/2.
The St. Louis Blues and Tampa Bay Lightning are then each listed at 10/1 on those Bodog odds to win the Stanley Cup, with the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings holding down lines of 11/1. The Minnesota Wild and the San Jose Sharks join the top Canadian team on the futures list, the Montreal Canadiens, at 16/1.
As for the other six Canadian clubs, the Vancouver Canucks are just a step back of the Habs at 18/1, with the Toronto Maple Leafs at 33/1, the Calgary Flames and Ottawa Senators at 50/1, the Winnipeg Jets at 66/1, and the Edmonton Oilers among the Stanley Cup longshots at 150/1.
The New York Islanders and the New York Rangers both hold down 22/1 odds at Bodog on the Stanley Cup futures list, with the Detroit Red Wings at 28/1, both the Nashville Predators and the Philadelphia Flyers at 33/1, and the Washington Capitals at 40/1.
The Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, and New Jersey Devils sit at 50/1 on the latest Stanley Cup odds at the online sportsbook, with the Columbus Blue Jackets at 66/1, and the Arizona Coyotes at 100/1. Joining the Oilers as longshots are the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers at 200/1, and the Buffalo Sabres at 300/1.
