With the puck dropping on the second round of the NHL playoffs this week it’s the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Chicago Blackhawks who sit tied as the favorites on the odds to win the Stanley Cup at the sportsbooks.
On the Bodog Stanley Cup odds the Blackhawks and the Penguins both sit at 5/2, with Chicago coming off a five-game win over the Minnesota Wild in the first round and Pittsburgh coming off a six-game win over the New York Islanders.
The Los Angeles Kings are next at 7/1 on the Stanley Cup odds at Bodog, with the San Jose Sharks at 15/2. Los Angeles knocked out the St. Louis Blues in six games in the first round, with San Jose needing just four games to get past the Vancouver Canucks.
Both the Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers are pegged at 8/1 on the odds to win the Stanley Cup at Bodog heading into the second round. Boston and New York both won Game 7s to close out the first round of the playoffs, with the Bruins beating the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Rangers bouncing the Washington Capitals.
The Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators then round out the NHL futures at Bodog at 15/1 on the Stanley Cup odds, with Detroit topping the Anaheim Ducks in the first round of the playoffs in seven games and the Senators needing just five games to get past the Montreal Canadiens.
The Eastern Conference side of the bracket for the second round of the NHL playoffs will have Pittsburgh vs. Ottawa and Boston vs. the Rangers. Over in the Western Conference the second-round matchups are Chicago vs. Detroit and Los Angeles vs. San Jose.
