The Pittsburgh Penguins and the New York Rangers are tied atop the Stanley Cup futures list at the sportsbooks as hockey fans cross their fingers that the league and its players will avoid another lockout.
The Pens and Rangers are both pegged at 8/1 on the odds to win the Stanley Cup at Bodog, which puts them just ahead of the 10/1 Vancouver Canucks and the 12/1 Los Angeles Kings – who are the defending Cup champions.
The Philadelphia Flyers (13/1), Chicago Blackhawks (14/1), and Detroit Red Wings (15/1) are also high on the Cup odds list, with the Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues each pegged at 16/1 odds.
The Minnesota Wild, who went on a spending spree over the summer and signed free agents Zach Parise and Ryan Suter, are now up to 18/1 on those Stanley Cup odds at Bodog. The San Jose Sharks round out the top tier of contenders right now at 20/1 odds.
