Stanley Cup Odds: Kings new favorites

The Los Angeles Kings entered the Stanley Cup playoffs as the eighth seed in the Western Conference, but they’ve worked their way up to the top of the NHL futures list at the sportsbooks.

The Kings bounced the Vancouver Canucks in the first round of the playoffs and had built a 3-0 lead on the St. Louis Blues in their second-round series heading into action on Sunday.

That had Los Angeles listed at 9/4 on the Stanley Cup odds at Bodog prior to puck drop in Game 4 against the Blues, with St. Louis the longest of the longshots at 35/1 odds.

The New York Rangers are next at 4/1 on the Stanley Cup futures as they sit tied with the Washington Capitals (7/1) in their second-round series heading into next week’s playoff action.

The Phoenix Coyotes are then at 9/2 as they try to bounce the Nashville Predators (16/1) from the postseason in the week ahead; Phoenix holds down a 3-1 lead on Nashville heading into Monday.

The New Jersey Devils (6/1) and Philadelphia Flyers (7/1) round out the current Stanley Cup futures at Bodog, with the Devils holding a 2-1 series lead heading into their Game 4 on Sunday.

The second round of the NHL playoffs will wrap up no later than Sunday, May 12, with the conference finals then getting underway.
