As we approach the NHL trade deadline teams continue to jockey for the top spots on the odds to win the 2015 Stanley Cup at the sportsbooks, with the Nashville Predators the latest club to make a move up the list after they bolstered their roster.
The Predators acquired defenseman Cody Franson and forward Mike Santorelli from the Toronto Maple Leafs to add depth to both the blueline and the forward corps of the team sitting in first place overall in the NHL standings with under 30 games left in the regular season.
That has Nashville up to 9/1 on the latest odds to win the 2015 Stanley Cup at Bodog, but they still trail both the Chicago Blackhawks (11/2) and the Anaheim Ducks (7/1) on those NHL betting futures – which has Western Conference teams sitting in the top three spots on those lines.
Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins are the top Eastern Conference team on the 2015 Stanley Cup odds, as they are tied with the St. Louis Blues for fourth place on the list at 10/1 odds. Three more Eastern clubs then follow along at 12/1 odds – the Montreal Canadiens, Tampa Bay Lightning, and New York Islanders.
The Eastern Conference has the next three teams on those Bodog futures as well, with each of the Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, and Detroit Red Wings at 14/1 odds. The Los Angeles Kings, struggling to get into a playoff position despite being the defending champions, are then at 16/1.
Farther down the 2015 Stanley Cup odds, the San Jose Sharks are at 18/1, with the Minnesota Wild at 20/1, the Washington Capitals at 25/1, and both the Vancouver Canucks and the Winnipeg Jets at 33/1. The Jets added defenseman Tyler Myers and forward Drew Stafford to their roster by dealing forward Evander Kane to the Buffalo Sabres.
The Calgary Flames are then back at 50/1 on the updated Stanley Cup 2015 odds at Bodog, with the Dallas Stars at 75/1, the Colorado Avalanche at 100/1, and the Florida Panthers at 200/1. The Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs are still holding down spots on the futures list at longshot 500/1 odds.
